TAIFOAM™ PLA

PLA是Poly Lactic Acid的縮寫,中文名稱為聚乳酸,學名為Poly Lactide。PLA是完全由植物中萃取出的澱粉經過發酵、去水及聚合等過程製造而成。Poly Lactide ﹝PLA﹞是一種新的多用途可堆肥的高分子聚合物,是由百分之百可再生資源如玉米、甜菜或者米製成。


PLA 生命週期是從玉米開始,收割後的玉米被送到玉米廠中將澱粉從玉米心﹝蛋白質、脂肪、纖維、灰份和水﹞分離經酵素水解物再經催糖。葡萄糖在中性的環境下將發酵成乳酸。乳酸在溫和條件及無溶劑下移除水分以生產出低分子量之預聚合物。這個預聚合再以蒸餾化減聚合作用後形成環型中間二聚物,稱之為減水乳酸。

PLA的原料主要為玉米等天然原料,不同於一般石化產品,故降低了對石油此有限資源的依賴,同時也間接降低了原油煉油等製程中所排放的氮氧化物及硫氧化物等污染氣體之排放。PLA的製作及其各項終端應用產品,由於製程及PLA本身的可堆肥特性,可在堆肥條件下自然分解成為二氧化碳及水。降低了有別於石化產品製程中CO2排放量及固體廢棄物量。


SJ GROUP研發團隊於2006年嚐試發泡PLA,但是初期發泡不良率太高無法到達量產規範,2007年將PLA中段產品改質,成功將PLA發泡減重完成初步量產規範,現今共有100% PLA獨立發泡與PLA複合材料連續發泡2種系統可以進行工業化量產。
